Lobenberg: Dieser Chenin Blanc kommt aus der ältesten Lage des Weinguts, die 1971 auf 250 Höhenmetern gepflanzt wurde. Nach der Handlese wird er in französischen Barriques vergoren und anschließend ein Jahr lang auf der Feinhefe darin ausgebaut. Mittleres Goldgelb mit etwas Grün und Silber. Die Nase ist absolut phänomenal! Ich habe diesen Wein über drei Tage hinweg immer wieder probiert und dabei eine wilde Achterbahnfahrt der Aromen durchlebt. Frisch geöffnet war der Wein beinahe ungestüm mit angeschlagenem roten Apfel und einem Hauch Landluft. Die chamäleonartige Wandlung des Weins ist fesselnd und spannend. Weißer Blütenhonig, duftendes Bienenwachs, Meyer-Lemon, Honigmelone, reife Aprikose, Orangensaft, Guave, rote Äpfel, Muskatnuss, Lorbeerblatt, Kardamom, etwas Teer und frisch zerschlagener Granit. Im Mund ist der Wein unendlich cremig und dicht, strukturiert, fruchtig und ultra mineralisch. Dabei schiebt er mit ordentlich Druck über die Zunge. Der Wein ist mit großem Charakter ausgestattet und geht ganz klar in die Freak-Stoff Richtung! Die Haptik vom Schalenkontakt und die salzige, mineralische Frische sind über-genial! 95/100

-- Decanter zu 2019: Planted to Chenin Blanc in 1971, Riverside is the oldest vineyard in the Keermont portfolio; the vines here sit at 250m and produce restricted yields of high quality. Made from selected parcels of grapes, fermentation occurred using indigenous yeasts, and the wine spent 11 months on the lees in seasoned French oak barrels of 225L and 500L. Greg Sherwood MW: Perfumed and peachy with a lifted top note, bathroom soap, sun lotion and an apple-melon mélange on the palate. Beverley Blanning MW: Fresh, bright, juicy-fruited wine, with lovely balance and fine texture, light oak tannins and gentle fruit. Understated and restrained, this wine is ageing beautifully. Roger Jones: Rose buds and violets on the front, hints of tangerine but restrained, clean and focused, some bitterness and spice on the mid-palate while the perfume continues to evolve. 95/100

-- Parker zu 2019: Displaying a broad and expressive nose, the 2019 Riverside Chenin Blanc begins with hints of oak before showing aromas of wax melon essence, soft notes of toasted almonds and sautéed lemon skin. Medium-bodied but with fantastic weight, the wine offers succulent acidity on the palate and a citrus-driven, mineral-laced finish. Only 3,700 bottles were produced after the wine rested for 12 months on the lees in a mix of new and used French oak barrels. Bravo! 91/100

-- Galloni: The 2020 Chenin Blanc Single Vineyard Series Riverside, aged in used 225 and 500-liter barrels, has an attractive nose with butterscotch, grilled almonds and light patisserie scents. The palate has a vibrant opening with an irresistible mixture of leesy/yeasty notes and citrus peel. Lovely texture, very phenolic in style with a very composed finish. Excellent. 91/100
