Lobenberg: Dunkler als der Brunello des Hauses, obwohl dieser Rosso trotz der Benamung in Wirklichkeit auch ein Brunello ist. Sogar der gleiche Wein, biodynamisch und aus den alten Reben, nur nicht lange im großen Holz sondern kürzer im kleineren Holzfass ausgebaut. Also die moderne Version des gleichen großen Weins! Burgundisch, satte Schwarzkirsche und Sauerkirsche, im Mund dann auch noch frische Zwetschge und rote und schwarze Johannisbeere. Auch Brombeere und feine Bitterschokolade kommen im langen Nachhall. Das ist für mich ein Brunello von gehobenster Klasse mit superber Frucht und schönem Druck. Eine kaum vorstellbare, superbe Balance. Der perfekte Rosso! 95/100

-- Parker: The Poggio di Sotto 2017 Rosso di Montalcino is a terrific wine and one of a handful of Rossi that I can recommend for longer cellar aging. This Rosso is built like a Brunello and shows the qualities needed to further its evolution. In this 20,000-bottle release, those attributes include complexity, freshness and a solid, mid-weight structure. You hardly feel the heat of the vintage, save for those hints of extra richness and concentration that add to the wine's important and pleasurable mouthfeel. This is a terrific Rosso with the long-term perspective of its big brother Brunello. 93+/100

-- Galloni: Luminous red. Delicately smoky and ripe on the nose, with deep raspberry and red cherry aromas complicated by notes of sandalwood, licorice, graphite and sweet pipe tobacco. Full and rich but also very bright, with red and dark berry flavors given life by juicy, harmonious acidity and very nicely framed by supple tannins. Closes long, fresh, and expansive, deeper and less sweet than the estate’s 2018 Rosso di Montalcino also released this year. Utterly delicious and already accessible, this boasts noteworthy elegance and freshness for such a big ripe wine. 92/100
