Lobenberg: Sehr dunkler, fast schwarzer Wein mit würzigem Bouquet, Schwarzkirsche, rote und schwarze Johannisbeere, Creme de Cassis, auch feine, rote Kirsche, etwas Zigarre und Olive, fein und tanninreich schon in der Nase. Im Mund kühl, zart, fein und doch explosiv kraftvoll. Extrem gradlinig strukturiert, satte, schwarze Kirschen mit Sauerkirsche und feiner, konzentrierter Brombeere umhüllt, dazu feine Bitterschokolade. Die das gesamte Powerpaket dominierende Finesse und Harmonie macht sprachlos. So ganz anders als viele Kraft-Weine und vor Schmelz strotzende Charme-Weine. Dieses ist die große, kühle Klarheit! Wird ab sofort groß sein, aber auch in dreißig Jahren, vielleicht dann noch besser. 94-96/100

-- Galloni: The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is just beginning to enter its early plateau of maturity. Savory herbs, plums, graphite, rose petal, lavender and sage all open up in an exotic, beguiling Cabernets that exudes personality. The 2005 has enough depth and structure to drink well for another 20 years, although it is not an especially big wine nor is it likely to improve materially from here. A second bottle, tasted six months prior, was much deeper, inkier and explosive. Either way, the 2005 is in the sweet spot today and will drink well for another 15 years or so, perhaps longer. 95/100

-- Katalog: -- John Gilman: The 2005 is another outstanding vintage for Philip and Lisa Togni, and I love the very sophisticated structural chassis of this pure and very intense young wine. The outstanding bouquet offers up an aromatic constellation of cassis, a touch of bell pepper, cigar smoke, dark soil tones, a bit of dried eucalyptus and a discreet base of new wood. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and very suave on the attack, with superb mid-palate concentration, ripe, buried tannins, very good acidity and a long, nascently complex and very elegant finish. This will be outstanding and give the superb 2008 a run for its money for many, many decades. 2020- 2065+. 94+/100
