Lobenberg: Reife Pflaume, Zwetschge, Schwarzkirsche, etwas Brombeere. Mittleres Volumen im schön verwobenen Mund, gute Harmonie zeigend. Hat keine wirkliche Größe, aber Soutard ist trotzdem ein sehr feiner, schöner, hochreifer St Emilion der neuen Stilistik. Gefällt mir sehr gut. Macht richtig Freude und hält ewig. Bei der zweiten Verkostung Ende Mai noch stärker, ein großer Wein mit sehr individuellem Touch. 97-98/100

Cassis, violets, black cherries, tobacco, and graphite, as well as a beautiful sense of minerality, all emerge from this beauty. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it shows the elegant, pure, precise style of this vintage beautifully and has building yet fine tannins, terrific balance, and a gorgeous finish. This utterly classic Saint-Emilion will benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age and have 25+ of overall longevity. 95/100

-- Galloni: The 2020 Soutard is stellar. Rich, ample and super-expressive, the 2020 impresses with its elegant, stylish personality. Rose petal, mint, mocha and sweet spice complement a core of red/purplish fruit, with pretty floral top notes that extend the finish gracefully. Firm yet nicely balanced tannins wrap it all together. This is beautifully done. 95/100

-- Parker: Deep purple-black colored, the 2020 Soutard opens with the most gorgeous perfume of rose petals, lavender, kirsch and raspberry leaves, followed by a core of preserved plums and ripe blackberries, plus emerging suggestions of clove oil and mandarin peel. The medium to full-bodied palate is softly textured and irresistibly seductive, featuring layer upon layer of perfumed red and black fruits and fantastic tension, finishing long, lifted and satisfyingly spicy. 93-95+/100
