Heiner Lobenberg über:
Chateau de Pez Cru Bourgeois 2016
94 /100
Lobenberg: Wunderbare aromatische Nase.

-- Decanter: Amazing colour, so dark and deep. Fragrant perfume and earthy notes on the nose, flint, ripe blackcurrant, plum and black cherry, milk and dark chocolate, liquorice, sweet cedar and tobacco. Bright and sleek, so smooth but grippy too, a combination of supple weight but then really quite firm and mineral-laced tannins that give the grip and the angles. Almost sharp but in a razor sharp not sour aspect, so clean, and precise. There’s weight, it's rich, dark and serious no doubt, and not entirely charming right now, it's full of muscle but also has juicy acidity and a mouthwatering mid palate. A nice buy with ageing potential and the sweet, sharp hit at the end just makes you think this is going to be great! 3.8pH. 1% Petit Verdot completes the blend. A yield of 26hl/ha. Tasted twice. 94/100

Chateau de Pez Cru Bourgeois
-- Wine Enthusiast: This is a ripe, bold wine, with great tannins and just the right amount of richness. A juicy core gives the wine life and vibrancy, countering the firm structure. It's a wine for long-term aging. 93–95/100

Suckling über:
Chateau de Pez Cru Bourgeois
-- Suckling: This is the best wine ever from here with dark berries, nutmeg and other spices. Medium to full body, firm and silky tannins and a polished texture. Lasts very long. 93-94/100

Parker über:
Chateau de Pez Cru Bourgeois
-- Parker: The 2016 de Pez appears to be benefitting from a long-term replanting program at the estate. This is a blend of 53% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3.5% Petit Verdot and 1.5% Cabernet Franc. The IPT is quite high at 80, and there is 13.9% alcohol. It has a pure and comely bouquet with black cherries and blackcurrant pastilles, just a touch of crushed violets that emerge with time. The palate is really quite lovely: very well balanced with a fine line of acidity, quite saline in the mouth, perhaps the finest tannic structure that I have encountered during many years of tasting this Saint Estèphe, with a long persistent finish. Maybe this is the 'dark horse' of the appellation this year. 92-94/100
Galloni über:
Chateau de Pez Cru Bourgeois
-- Galloni: The 2016 de Pez is a broad, ample wine. Charcoal, smoke, scorched earth, iron, licorice and grilled herbs add aromatic savoriness to a core of intense, dark red fruit. The virile, imposing tannins need time to settle down, but there is plenty to like and look forward to. 90-92/100
Wine Spectator über:
Chateau de Pez Cru Bourgeois
-- Wine Spectator: Textbook for the AOC, with a bright core of damson plum and bitter cherry flavors, laced with fine chalky tannins and backed by a pretty lilac note. 88-91/100
