Heiner Lobenberg über:
Chateau Brane Cantenac 2eme Cru 2010

95–96
/100

Sehr rassiger Mund. Tolle Schwarzfrucht, Kirsche, Maulbeere, Brombeere und Cassis, dann kommt rote Frucht, Johannisbeere, Kirsche, Waldhimbeere und wieder gelbe Mango. Schöne Pralinen. Viel Milchschokolade. 95-96

Decanter über: Chateau Brane Cantenac 2eme Cru

-- Decanter: 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc. Still a very youthful and lively Margaux with fine tannins and fresh acidity. The wine needs a long time to reach its peak; it is a top classic. The nose is refined and layered, with notes of blueberry and prune, followed by integrated oak with evidence of charcoal wood and pencil shavings. 98/100

Parker über: Chateau Brane Cantenac 2eme Cru

-- Parker: With a gorgeously evolved, extremely complex bouquet of forest floor, spring flowers, lead pencil shavings and red and black currants, this full-bodied, dense, ruby/plum/purple-colored wine hits the palate with an opulent, fleshy, full-bodied richness, silky tannins, and a very layered, profoundly concentrated style that is, at the same time, both powerful and sublime. This gorgeous wine from proprietor Andre Lurton will benefit from 3-5 years of cellaring and evolve for 25-30 years. 95+/100

Neal Martin über: Chateau Brane Cantenac 2eme Cru

-- Neal Martin: -- NM: Tasted at the UGC tasting in London. The Brane-Cantenac has a nose of immense breeding: blackberry, mineral, subtle cedar notes and brilliant definition. It is one of those Brane vintages that nod towards Pauillac in terms of style and personality. The palate is medium-bodied with super-fine, tensile tannins. It is not a powerful Margaux, but it has fabulous precious and minerality and it glides effortlessly towards the silky finish. This is a superb wine from Henri Lurton and his team. Tasted November 2012. 95/100

Jeb Dunnuck über: Chateau Brane Cantenac 2eme Cru

-- Jeb Dunnuck: The 2010 Château Brane-Cantenac appears to have shut down, yet it still shows incredible potential. Revealing a deep plum hue as well as terrific darker currant, smoked tobacco, licorice, graphite, and subtle floral notes, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a layered, rich, concentrated mouthfeel, beautifully sweet tannins, and a great finish. It has an incredible amount of sweet fruit, plenty of structure, and a great mid-palate; however, it needs another 4-5 years of bottle age to hit prime time. I followed this bottle for multiple days, and it was just about impervious to air and should have another 2+ decades of overall longevity.

Suckling über: Chateau Brane Cantenac 2eme Cru

-- Suckling: Pretty red fruits such as cherries in this wine with chewy tannins and fresh acidity. Toasted oak too. Needs time to come together. Dense and complete for this estate. Better than 2009. Better after 2016. 94/100
