Lobenberg: Das ist typisch Verdejo in dieser unglaublichen Feinheit. Es liegt auf der Hand, den Verdacht zu äußern, dass sich Verdejo und Verdicchio aus Italien ähneln, weil wir eine ähnliche Feinheit haben. Super Schliff mit feinen hellen Blüten, hochelegant! Im Mund ergänzt durch Kumquat, Mandarine und Zitronengras. Eine weißpfeffrige Chilischärfe dazu, ziemlich lang und ziemlich intensiv. In Puderzucker gewälzte Limette, Zitronengras, Darjeeling und grüner Tee kommen dazu. Erstaunlich lang, intensiv und mit einem sehr feinen Nachhall. Everybody’s Darling mit Klasse und einem unglaublich guten saftigen Trinkfluss. *** El Transistor besteht aus 100 Prozent Verdejo. Die Weine wachsen auf Kies und Flussschwemmsand. Im Weingut werden die Trauben direkt abgepresst. Der Most wird im Tonneau vergoren, anschließend erfolgt der Ausbau zum Teil im Beton, zum Teil im Tonneau, keine Bâtonnage, rund zehn Prozent Neuholz.

2023 war sehr warm, aber er ist deutlich kühler und balancierter als der noch heißere und trockenere 2022. Nicht so aufregend und extrem wie 2021, eher eine reife und harmonische Version von 2020. Und so ist 2023 durchaus eine Fortsetzung der so großen Jahrgänge seit 2019. Luis Gutierez, Parkers Mann für Spanien, fasst den Jahrgang 2023 anhand von Alvaro Palacios Weingütern ganz im Westen und ganz im Osten, somit Landesübergreifend so zusammen: 2023 was an even more generous crop than 2022 … the wines have better balance, and it doesn't feel like a warm year at all. In fact, the wines feel more like they come from a cool year. It's a vintage that has a tendency toward reduction, not as much as 2020, but still reductive. But it's an elegant, stony reduction...The quality of the 2023s is stunning. There is a level of precision, cleanliness, symmetry and elegance that, if the end of the élevage and the bottling goes as expected, I must conclude that 2023 might be the finest vintage ... There might be other individual wines that reach higher peaks, but as an overall portfolio, the vintage 2023 represents the strongest collection ever produced.

Parker über: Rueda El Transistor Verdejo

-- Parker: There is a flinty and smoky twist in the 2022 El Transistor, a pure Verdejo from stony soils. It fermented with indigenous yeasts in barriques, foudres and concrete vats, where it matured after six or seven months. To keep the freshness, the whites from Rueda don't go through malolactic fermentation, and this kept a healthy level of acidity and pH (3.33), while the alcohol was 13%. This is rich without excess and fills your mouth, and it has the chalky texture from the limestone rich soils. Tasty. 13,902 bottles were filled in May 2023. 92/100The serious Verdejo white 2023 El Transistor was produced with the grapes from one of the oldest vineyards in the village of La Seca, where they get some 15,000 bottles. It fermented with indigenous yeasts in oak barrels and foudres of different sizes and concrete vats, where it matured for six to seven months. It's paler than Basa, subtler, less varietal and more herbal, savory and balsamic. It has 13% alcohol with a pH of 3.4 and 5.8 grams of acidity and is dry, gentle and balanced. It follows the path of the 2022. 10,427 bottles produced. It was bottled in April 2024.
