-- Jancis Robinson: Pure citrus on the nose – utterly inviting lemon purity but also the intensity of the place, in saltiness. Power and length here but, says Maçanita, it will look older younger. Outstanding wine even though it is embryonic. (JH)

-- Parker: Juice from the second pressing of the wines produced the 2023 Arinto dos Açores Sur Lies—the wine will be changed to that name because now all wines are sur lie, as they implemented horizontal tanks, which were introduced gradually in 2014 to test and are now 100% in 2020; all are very exposed to lees. It has some toasty and leesy notes and is very textured with a chalky feeling. The botrytis is evident, with aromas of dried apricot and lanolin. It matured with lees in horizontal stainless steel vats (65%) and French oak barrels (35%) for eight months. It has a moderate 12% alcohol with notable freshness and acidity, a pH of 3.26 and 7.23 grams of acidity. 3,000 bottles produced.
