Lobenberg: Reinsortig Callet, die ältesten Reben eines kleinen Singlevineyards, ausgebaut in Amphoren, nur 1000 Flaschen gesamt, DAS soll der perfekte Ausdruck von Callet sein. Callet, stilistisch ähnlich ultrafein und zartfruchtig schwebend wie Pinot Noir oder eher noch Nerello Mascalese vom Etna. Die Farbe changiert zwischen Bronze und Zwetschgenrot. Leichtend. Ton, Eisen, Zwetschge und Kirschennoten in der leicht rauchigen Nase. Superzarter und geichzeitig intensiver Mund nach sauren Himbeer-Johannisbeer-Drops. Piinke Grapefruit, etwas Orangenzesten. Leichte Sanddornspur im eisenhaltigen, steinig sauren Finale. Das Finale mit dieser außergewöhnlich feinen und doch sauren Struktur steht für Minuten. Der Wein ist sicher nicht viel besser als der fast perfekte 4 Kilos, ist schräger, aber er drückt die Einzigartigkeit der Callet auf verblüffende Art aus. 98+/100

-- Parker: They came to the conclusion for their 2018 Grimalt/Caballero that less is more, and simple things have a complex and long process. So, for this blend of Callet and Fogoneu, they do a simple vinification in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and an élevage of 14 months in 600-liter oak barrels. It has a bright ruby color and is incredibly aromatic, floral, peppery and nuanced, clean and focused like never before. It's terribly elegant, balanced, intense and somehow light, with 12% alcohol and super fine tannins. It's a cool Mediterranean red, among the best produced in Spain. It opened up spectacularly in the glass, the floral and spicy character grew and the wine didn't stop unfolding layers of aromas. The flavors are pungent, high pitched, precise and clean. There is a lot of tension here, the texture is seamless and the finish long, clean and focused. Simply superb! Only 600 bottles from two small plots were filled in December 2019. 97/100
